Before Monday it was believed the Gabonese forward's deal at BVB would run out in 2020, but new reports have suggested he has extended his stay for another year, according to the Mirror.
When the news began to circulate, the striker took to Instagram to confirm the news, while he also mocked the press for not knowing about his extension earlier, though the video has since been removed.
BVB's sporting director Michael Zorc also confirmed the reports.
"The contract runs through to '21," he told Sky Sports.
"That's still a long way away.
"One day, he will certainly leave Borussia Dortmund - he won't end his career here.
"He's an extremely important player for us, and we continue to plan with him."
