The Three Lions boss named a bigger squad than expected on 25 May as several of his players were set to take part in the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Champions League finals, while others were injury concerns.

Southgate has now announced his final Euro 2020 squad, with in-form Manchester United star Jesse Lingard, who spent the second half of the 2020/21 campaign on loan at West Ham United, being one of the players dropped from 33-man provisional team. Mason Greenwood, meanwhile, was forced to pull out due to injury.

Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse has also been left out of the 26-man selection, as has Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, who was a surprise inclusion in the initial squad.
