Mothobi Mvala has come faced some criticism, but a former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder has explained why the player adds value to the Tshwane giants.
Mvala was signed before the start of last season, but there has been mixed feelings about his inclusions in the team by Sundowns supporters, particularly on social media. Despite all the talk, Mvala has continued to work hard and has earned himself a spot in Hugo Broos' Bafana Bafana squad.
There are those who feel Mvala is not your typical Sundowns player with finesse, but he has proven to be a hit with the coaches who continue to include him in the team.
Former Sundowns midfielder Brent Carelse is a big fan of Mvala and has explained why he has been impressed with the player since he joined from Highlands Park.
"What I like about him is the fact that he is does the basics properly and he works hard for the team. He knows he is not the one who will get all the recognition, but there is a job for him to do and he does it very well. You can't fault him on that," Carelse told the Siya crew.
"He's got a job to do for the team and he does it on a consistent basis and he even scores a goal here and there."
