Liverpool star Mohamed Salah and Arsenal's Mohamed Elneny are among the overaged players included in Egypt's preliminary Olympic squad.
Egypt were handed a tough group this week after being drawn in Group C with Spain, two-time winners Argentina and Australia.
The Pharoahs will begin their Group C campaign against 1992 winners Spain July 21, and could have Salah in their attack.
Egypt U23 manager Shawky Gharib confirmed that the Premier League duo have been considered for the tournament, which is scheduled to get underway a week before the 2021/22 Premier League season begins.
"We have registered 14 over-age players in a list of 80 players, including Ahmed Hegazi and Trezeguet, who I felt so sorry for his injury," Gharib said on "On Sport FM, as per KingFut.
"Mohamed El-Shennawy and Mohamed Elneny are also present in the list, they could fill the gap on needed roles on the pitch.
"We also have five distinguished goalkeepers participating with their clubs, ready for any opportunity.
"But in order to take advantage of the three over-age players limit, the team must need the ones who join 100%, and we have a player who is considered to be among the three best players in the world, so he must be considered.
"We sent a letter to Liverpool, immediately after the draw, in which we explained all the details so that Salah would be with us.
"Salah is a star and his presence is an addition to us and all the players want him to join.
