Talented winger Happy Mashiane and Willard Katsande have made their way into Kaizer Chiefs' Carling Black Label starting line-up, replacing Siyabonga Ngezana and Njabulo Blom who were in the team a couple of weeks ago.
Even thought Chiefs did not have a good season on the domestic front, Mashiane proved his worth and showed that he can deliver on the big stage when given opportunities to do so. He, along with teammate Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, were one of the most talked about players, giving Amakhosi supporters hope during some very difficult times.
The player, who has been included in Bafana Bafana's COSAFA Cup squad, has made 25 appearances in all competitions in a season which has been extended due to his side's participation in the CAF Champions League. Amakhosi are in the semi-finals of the continental club competition and go into the second leg this weekend at FNB Stadium with a 1-0.
What's interesting with Katsande is that his current deal with Amakhosi is due to expire at the end of June, but indications are that the veteran Zimbabwean midfielder will be given a one-year extension, following the arrival of head coach Stuart Baxter.
The Carling Black Label, meanwhile, has been moved from July 31 to August 1 and will be played at Orlando Stadium.
