Mamelodi Sundowns winger cum defender Lyle Lakay has finally been recognized for his good performances in the domestic league. The left footed star has quietly gone about his business in the domestic league without grabbing too much attention. Lakay has done a exceptionally job in defence for Masandawana since joining the Pretoria based side from Cape Town City a few years ago. Lakay has proven to be one of the best in his position but has been overlooked by national team selector for years.Speaking to his club’s website, the speedy full back described receiving a call up to the national team as a great feeling.  “it’s always a good feeling being called up to represent your country and it shows that I am doing well. There is always room for improvement and this call up is a huge confidence booster” - said Lakay.The Brazilians star started the second leg match against Sao Tome and helped Bafana Bafana record a comfortable win against the island nation.
