According to Marca, Bale will soon sign a new contract with Real, which will run until 2021 and puts him on an annual salary level with club captain Sergio Ramos'.
Bale's new deal will apparently see him pocket €10 million (R159 million) a year after tax. Only Los Blancos superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, whose own contract renewal is likely to be announced in September, will earn more than the Welshman.
The 27-year-old joined Real for a then world record fee of €101 million (R1.6 billion) in 2013, and has since made 124 appearances for the club, scoring 60 goals and assisting another 46 strikes.
He has also lifted five trophies with the Spanish giants, among them two UEFA Champions League titles in just three years.
