From Canada with Love

In a world filled with hate and the absolute tendency to gossip about another person because of their skin colour, nationality or lack of opportunities. The person I'm gonna write about is a star that stood out in the midst of wars and that was educated because of the love for humans. It is love that got Alphonso Davies his Champions League medal around his neck. Fleeing the Second Civil war in Liberia allows us to experience a talent like no other. Speed, technique and the intelligence to hold back in the final knowing that Coman was a good 1 on 1 footballer. Ultimately the Canadians love for helping humans served as a huge spring board for the teenager to succeed at the highest level possible. The Holy Grail that the Bavarians had waited 7 years to recapture. Today we live in a world full of desperate people who have no other choice but to leave their homes in search of peace and a better life. Nowadays refugees like Davies are seen as a strain on our precious society. Alphonsos' story does not only stand out as a beacon of what we as South Africans can change and achieve if we choose love and not hate. Yes it was an incredible night in Lisbon for the first Canadian to lift the Ultimate European trophy. But it was so much more. As we push for humanity to become normal in our abnormal circumstances. There are so many out there who are ready to maximize their chances just like the tricky fullback did. Thank You.
