Former Orlando Pirates coach discloses why his move to PSL newcomers fell through.

Owen da Gama is disappointed to see clubs such as Highlands Park and Bidvest Wits sold. The experienced coach told weekly football publication Soccer Laduma that South African football administrators should learn a thing or two from their European counter-parts. Such as the owners of Chelsea, who bought the club but still kept its culture, name and did not relocate it. Soon after leaving Highlands Park, the former national youth coach was linked with a move to PSL newcomers TTM but the move fell through after the owners did not get back to him. “What happened is that my agent spoke to Mr Mosala Mulaudzi. He asked for the proposal, it was sent and, in all fairness, he never came back and said, “We can do this, we can’t do that.” There were no negotiations. It just died there. I don’t understand how people operate, you know”. said Owen da Gama
