Firm interest from three PSL clubs in Highland's Park's Owen Da Gama

Highlands Park coach Owen Da Gama is a man in demand, with the coach confirming that no less than three PSL teams have enquired about his services.

'Messi' Pens Heartfelt Message As Bucs Return Looms

The 59-year-old has once again managed to guide The Lions of the North to a comfortable ninth place position on the Absa Premiership standings, with only goal difference preventing them from securing a coveted top eight spot.

Da Gama's future has become a talking point in recent times following the sale of Highlands Park to TS Galaxy owner Tim Sukazi, subject to ratification from the league.

The former National Under-23 coach previously confirmed that he was approached by PSL newbies Tshakhuma Tsha Madzhivandhila to take up their vacant head coaching position, although he was still under contract with Highlands.

Now, opening up to the Siya crew, Da Gama has revealed that there are no less than three unnamed PSL teams keen on his services, although he has to meet with Highlands before anything can happen.

"Well the team is sold, I am disappointed that it is sold, but I am still under contract so I will have to hear what they say. We need to speak, if the league approves the deal, then the new owner has to address us regarding existing contracts, Da Gama said."

When asked about his future, the former Orlando Pirates coach shared that there will be more clarity on his next destination in the coming weeks, although he still has one year left on his existing deal with the Tembisa outfit.

"There are three PSL teams that are currently interested, so I have to wait, but there is nothing I can do at the moment. The teams have spoken to me but I told them there is nothing I can do until I've spoken to Highlands Park.

"I was told that the deal has gone through but I am still under contract, I have a year left, so I'll have to speak to the new owner and hear what his plans are. I can't speak to anyone until we have clarity on the matter," Da Gama explained.
