Dube Birds flying against all odds

A swallow gracefully flies around undetected. Feeding on their prey while flying. That's how subtly their title charge came about. Despite the struggle of dealing with the pandemic and staying motivated during the lockdown. They gathered on a monday and thursday to give thanks to pray and praise God. This team of players and all added staff came together during a difficult time having to focus on the task at hand. Initailly the idea was to stay in the championship but eventually when winning the league became a reality they shifted their focus to what was basically a pipe dream a few months ago. Their league triumph has been driven by the Cape Storm of Brandon Truter. A nine point buffer cut into shreds. The man who stood as a brother and also a father to lead the Soweto Giants back to their rightful place. Giving players like Lebogang Mokoena and Vuyo Mere another lease of life. Their emotions post the final whilstle is a moment to surely capture and appreciate. Sending a message to all players who are on the wrong side of 30, that they still have a major role to play in SA Football. Yes it was at the expense of my dear Ajax Cape Town but seeing one of my mentors Ebrahim Layman finally getting some sort of recognition for his skills and quality is still satisfactory. With him overcoming this challenge we as academy coaches in Cape Town also celebrate with him. Congratulations Swallows FC , Welcome back to the Big time !!!
