Teams: Cape Town City v Maritzburg United
Date: 19 May 2021
Venue: Cape Town Stadium
Cape Town City have a chance to close the gap to the DStv Premiership's top three on Wednesday when they host relegation-threatened Maritzburg United.
The match gets underway at 17h00.
The Mother City outfit come into the game sitting in seventh position in the standings, but they trail third-placed Arrows by only six points with three fixtures left.
The hosts are, however, vulnerable right now as the club placed coach Jan Olde Riekerink on administrative leave two weeks ago.
In addition, their form has been poor. They lost two and drew one of their last three games, which included a 5-1 defeat at home against AmaZulu.
Maritzburg have problems of their own as they have been dragged back into the relegation battle following the 1-0 defeat at Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila on Saturday.
Coach Ernst Middendorp's men have won only one of their last four, against Golden Arrows, and are only three points above the bottom two with three games left.
