Borussia Dortmund talisman Erling Haaland will sadly miss out due to Norway failing to qualify, with the 20-year-old set to wait a while longer for his first major tournament on the senior international stage.

A fact that might not be known to many is that Haaland was actually born in Leeds, England, and therefore would have been eligible to represent the Three Lions if he had chosen to go down that path when he was younger.

For Germany, BVB captain Marco Reus has been left out of Joachim Low's side, and the same can be said for injured Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who is expected to miss the start of the Catalan club's 2021/22 season.

Sweden confirmed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who returned to international duty this year, will not be fit enough to compete for his country, while Sergio Ramos was essentially left out of Luis Enrique's Spain squad for the same reason.

Taking to Instagram in the wake of Enrique's decision, the 35-year-old admitted that although he was hurt, it was the correct call to make due to the disrupted 2020/21 campaign he had with Real Madrid.

Barcelona wonderkid Ansu Fati will also not participate in the tournament due to injury, while the likes of Marco Asensio and Isco were overlooked by Enrique for other reasons.
