Brazil Announce Squad For Germany Friendly, Snub 10 Stars

Brazil Announce Squad For Germany Friendly, Snub 10 Stars

Brazil line-up

Brazil coach Tite has announced his squad for their upcoming friendly against 2014 FIFA World Cup winners Germany, and will be hoping the Selecao can avenge their 7-1 defeat from the last time the two giants met. However, he once again snubbed some high-profile names.

Click through the gallery above to see some Brazil stars who were snubbed for Tite's latest squad.

The five-time World Cup winners were taught a hard lesson in 2014, when Germany eliminated the hosts from the World Cup in Brazil.

However, fortunes have changed for the South American giants since Tite took over after the 2015 Copa America. Brazil were the first side to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, and have set up a high-profile friendly with the current world champions as part of their preparations.

Tite's side will first play against Russia on 23 March before facing Germany four days later.

Brazil will, of course, be without injured superstar Neymar, while the likes of Alex Sandro and Danilo, among others, were not selected.

Here is Tite's latest Brazil squad in full, as confirmed by the Selecao's official Twitter account:

Goalkeepers: Alisson (Roma), Neto (Valencia), Ederson (Manchester City)

Defenders: Miranda (Inter Milan), Marquinhos, Thiago Silva, Daniel Alves (all Paris Saint-Germain), Marcelo (Real Madrid), Rodrigo Caio (Sao Paulo), Filipe Luis (Atletico Madrid), Fagner (Corinthians), Pedro Geromel (Gremio)

Midfielders: Casemiro (Real Madrid), Fernandinho (Manchester City), Paulinho (FC Barcelona), Renato Augusto (Beijing Guoan), Philippe Coutinho (FC Barcelona), Willian (Chelsea), Fred (Shakhtar Donetsk), Anderson Talisca (Besiktas)

Forwards: Gabriel Jesus (Manchester City), Roberto Firmino (Liverpool), Douglas Costa (Juventus), Taison (Shakhtar Donetsk), Willian Jose (Real Sociedad)
