Belgium coach Marc Wilmots said he was not impressed by Argentina after the South Americans sent them packing from the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
A single goal from Gonzalo Higuain handed Argentina a 1-0 win over Belgium in their quarter-final in Brasilia on Saturday.
Speaking after the game Wilmots said Argentina left him disappointed, but their experience was the difference between the two sides.
"Argentina didn't wow us," said Wilmots.
"They looked quite an ordinary side to me, but they used their experience well.
"They started as favourites, scored an early goal and then knew how to handle being in front, by stopping us getting any momentum going."
The Belgium coach added that they still have a lot to learn going forward, but he is happy with how his side handled themselves in the World's biggest tournament.
"We've got lessons to learn: at tournaments like this you pay heavily for little mistakes, and sometimes you've got to be smarter than your opponents," added Wilmcots.
"Today we tried everything, but it didn't work out.
"In any case, I don't see this as a disappointing result, there's no shame in losing to Argentina in the quarter-finals.
"You have to focus on the positives: this team have played well and have had recognition for that.
"It's been a good tournament."
