A few PSL teams are on high alert after former Free State Stars midfielder Jared Abrahams has returned to the country after his European stint was cut short.
The University of Johannesburg graduate spent time playing for Free State Stars' MultiChoice Diski team before being promoted to the first team in that same year.
The 25-year-old formed part of the Stars team that won the Nedbank Cup in 2018, though his impact was limited, making just two appearances. One of those appearances came in a one-all draw against Kaizer Chiefs in 2017.
With the Bethlehem-based outfit being relegated to the GladAfrica Championship in the 2018/19 season, Abrahams jetted off to the Czech Republic. It was in August that Abrahams made the move to TJ Jiskra Ústí nad Orlicí, who compete in the third level of Czech football.
His European stay was short-lived, though, as his European work permit expired. During his spell with the team, he made just eight appearances for the Czech outfit.
Now, the Siya crew has now been informed that the lanky player, who can play as a midfielder or second striker, is back in the country and is lining up a PSL move as clubs take note.
According to his representative, Warren Swartz of Proathlete Management Agency, there are a few topflight teams with whom they are in discussions, although nothing has been finalised yet.
They are confident that Abrahams will have a team by the start of the 2020/21 season.
