24-year-old had an injury plagued campaign, last season

Manuel Pellegrini has indicated that he wants to play Stevan Jovetic as our starting centre-forward next season, and with his encouraging pre-season performances, it's not a mystery why.

The Montenegrin had trouble finding fitness last season and was only able to make two starts over the course of the Premier League campaign. For the most part, Edin Dzeko was played at the top of our formation with Sergio Aguero and Alvaro Negredo also ahead in the pecking order.

However, should he remain fit, Jovetic looks like our in-form striker for the time being and with his manager backing him to make an impact, hopefully we'll see him replicate the kind of form that made him one of the most sought after young strikers in Europe.

Alvaro Negredo's injury will mean that there is less competition for the role, but competing with Aguero and Dzeko will not be an easy task.

Hopefully this young man will be able to hit the ground running when the Premier League kicks off in the next month.
