South African Referees To Officiate At 2015 AFCON

The South African Football Assocation has announced that South African referee Victor Gomes along with assistant referee Zakhele Siwela have been invited to officiate at the 2015 CAF African Cup of Nations finals, scheduled to begin 17 January 2015.

Gomes and Siwela are the only two South African match officials invited to officiate in next year's edition of the biennial football tournament.

Known for his no nonsense approach to refereeing, Gomes has been an international referee since 2011 and was the recipient of the PSL Referee of the Season award in the 2012/13 season, whilst Siwela has officiated in the high profile 2014 Fifa World Cup return-leg qualifier between Morocco and Tanzania in 2013.
