CAF Have Released A Statement About The AFCON Draw

The Confederation of African Football have issued a statement regarding the African Cup of Nations draw that is set to take place on Friday, where Bafana Bafana will discover their fate.   Read: Praise For Super Sub After Rasta's Rocket Double   Stuart Baxter's Bafana Bafana booked their spot in Egypt last month with a 2-1 victory over Libya in Tunisia, with Percy Tau getting the goals, in what was a lauded team performance from the South African side.   There has been talk surrounding which nation will be in which pot ahead of Friday's draw in Cairo, and CAF have now moved to insist that, until they have communicated matters, nothing is official.   Read: R12.6m At 22! - Chiefs, Bucs Among PSL's 11 Most Expensive Starlets   A statement from the governing body said, "Following articles published in some media concerning the draw procedure for the Total African Cup of Nations 2019, the Confédération Africaine de Football reminds that the website cafonline.com is the only official communication of CAF competitions.   "In accordance with the statutes and regulations of CAF, the procedure for the draw of the Total AFCON, Egypt 2019 will be submitted to the AFCON Organizing Committee and approved by the Executive Committee.   "CAF is not responsible for the presumptions published or to appear in the media. An official statement will be published on the CAF website as soon as it the procedure will be approved by the Executive Committee."   The pots that have been reported in the media are as follows:   Pot 1: Egypt‚ Ghana‚ Tunisia‚ Ivory Coast‚ Cameroon‚ Senegal Pot 2: Morocco‚ Nigeria‚ DR Congo‚ Algeria‚ Mali‚ Guinea Pot 3: Uganda‚ South Africa‚ Guinea-Bissau‚ Zimbabwe‚ Angola‚ Burundi Pot 4: Mauritania‚ Namibia‚ Benin‚ Kenya‚ Madagascar‚ Tanzania     Watch: SLTV: 'Africa Must Know The Name Sundowns'
