13 PSL Players Will Take Part At AFCON 2017

The 2017 African Cup of Nations gets underway this weekend, and while there are no South Africans taking part, the Premier Soccer League is still represented heavily at the tournament.

A total of 13 different players - 12 from the Absa Premiership and one from the National First Division - will be hoping to play a role for their countries in Gabon over the coming weeks, with nine different clubs from Mzansi likely to be keeping an eye on proceedings.

Only eight other nations (France - 57, England - 37, Portugal, Tunisia, Spain, Turkey - 18, Belgium - 16 and Egypt - 15) will have more players playing from their leagues than South Africa, although eight of the PSL's AFCON stars are in one side, Zimbabwe.
