Salah Sets Impressive Record, Real Suffer Shock Loss

Lille 1-0 Real Madrid

Real Madrid suffered their first defeat of the season after losing 1-0 to Lille in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.

Kylian Mbappe was only named on the bench after missing the Madrid derby through injury, as Endrick was given his first start of the campaign.

The French side took a surprising lead on the stroke of halftime when Jonathan David converted a penalty after Eduardo Camavinga was deemed to have handled in the box.

Carlo Ancelotti's men were unable to find a way back in to the clash and were condemned to their first loss of the 2024/25 season.

Liverpool 2-0 Bologna

Liverpool maintained their winning start with a 2-0 triumph over Bologna at Anfield.

The Reds got the early breakthrough as Alexis Mac Allister found the back of the net by turning home a cross from Mohamed Salah.

Arne Slot's charges had to wait until the 75th minute for the second goal, with Salah adding his name to the score-sheet with a powerful strike to become the first player in Reds history to score in five straight Champions Leagues at Anfield.

Aston Villa 1-0 Bayern Munich

Aston Villa claimed their first win the League Phase after defeating Bayern Munich 1-0 at Villa Park.

Villa had the ball in the back of the net on 22 minutes through  Diego Carlos' neat finish, but the celebrations were short after the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) spotted an offside.

After a goalless first half, the home side were not to be denied on 79 minute when Pau Torres played in Jhon Duran, who lobbed the on-rushing Manuel Neuer with a lovely finish.

RB Leipzig 2-3 Juventus

Juventus battled back on two occasions to defeat RB Leipzig in a five-goal thriller on Wednesday night.

The home side got the breakthrough on 30 minutes when Benjamin Sesko made it two goals in two successive Champions League games with a lovely left-footed volley.

The Serie A outfit restored parity five minutes after the break courtesy of a lovely first-time finish from Dusan Vlahovic.

However, Juventus were reduced to ten men on the hour mark when goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio handled outsidde the box.

Leipzig restored their lead on 64 minutes through Sesko's penalty before Vlahovic completed his brace four minutes to bring the visitors level for a second time.

Despite being a man down, Juventus got the winning goal with seven minutes remaining as Francisco Conceicao fired home to complete the turnaround.
