Result: Legia Warsaw 3-3 Real Madrid

Date: 02 November 2016

Venue: Stadion Wojska Polskiego

Real Madrid needed a late strike from Mateo Kovacic to rescue a point, as they drew 3-3 with Legia Warsaw in their UEFA Champions League encounter.

Los Blancos broke the deadlock after just one minute courtesy of a sublime first-time volley from Gareth Bale, after getting on the end of Cristiano Ronaldo's knock-on.

Real continued to push for another goal and they went close after 16 minutes when Raphael Varane's glancing header was cleared off the line.

The visitors eventually doubled their lead after 32 minutes when Bale turned provider to tee up Karim Benzema, who placed the ball into the bottom corner from 12-yards out,

Legia pulled one back just before the halftime break, as Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe skipped past a couple challenges before rifling the ball into the top corner from the edge of the box.

The hosts leveled matters in the 58th minute as Miroslav Radovic took advantage of some sloppy defending to fire a low effort past Keylor Navas from close range, 2-2.

Zinedine Zidane responded by introducing Lucas Vazquez for Benzema with 20 minutes to play, although they continued to struggle in the final third.

Cristiano Ronaldo was cutting a frustrating figure in the attack, as he had no luck in front of goal and was closed down on numerous occasion.

Legia then went ahead after 82 minutes when Thibault Moulin brilliantly side-footed home from the edge of the area to stun the Champions.

However, Real leveled matters three minutes later as Dani Carvajal teed up Mateo Kovacic, who drilled a low effort into the far corner from the edge of the box, 3-3.
