The Red Devils will be looking to bounce back in the UCL on Wednesday night after their shock 1-0 loss to Aston Villa over the weekend.
United will come up against Villarreal in a rematch of last season's UEFA Europa League final, which the LaLiga outfit won on penalties.
Ronaldo is no stranger to the Yellow Submarine, having played against them in the Spanish top flight with Real Madrid for seven years.
"Of course, when Cristiano is playing, you are almost always guaranteed one goal," Solskjaer said in a pre-match press conference, as per Football Espana.
"He has that record and 13 goals in 15 games against Villarreal, which means he enjoys playing against them.
"He knows (Raul) Albiol from Real Madrid, (Pau) Torres, they are top defenders, but it is not easy for them to play against Cristiano, either.
"The more he plays, the better we will become, but we have to play well to create chances against them."
