Bayern Munich Star: It's A Shame To Face Barcelona Without Lionel Messi

Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller says it's shame that they will be facing Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League without Lionel Messi.

Messi has already begun his new life at Paris Saint-Germain, after the Catalan outfit were unable to re-sign him due their financial issues and LaLiga's wage structure.

The last time Barcelona faced off against the Bavarians was in the quarter-finals of the Champions League in 2020, when the German side ran out 8-2 winners.

Muller has now admitted he does not know what to expect from Ronald Koeman's charges on Tuesday evening.

"When you play against a team that has Leo Messi, it's something that gives additional motivation to everyone because we know what he has achieved.

"I have to admit that, actually, I cannot assess Barcelona. Without doubt, without Messi, they will be a different team.

"It's possible that, without Messi, they will have a player with more defensive contributions.

"I don't know what awaits us. In any case, it's a marvelous stadium and a great club."
