According to UEFA.com, the Frenchman, who become the 34th player to reach the milestone, brought up his century in the in the second leg of Real Madrid's round of 16 tie against Paris on Tuesday.
Although Benzema has joined a special club, he finds himself some way behind Porto goalkeeper Iker Casillas, who is in first place with 167 appearances to his name. The 36-year-old has played for two clubs in the competition his first was Los Blancos and the other was the Portuguese giants.
In second, we have FC Barcelona legend Xavi Hernandez, who appeared 151 times and all while playing for the Blaugrana. The 28-year-old now plays for Qatari club Al Sadd SC and will go down as one of the true legends of the European competition.
Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is in third place with his tally of 148 appearances, which he accumulated while playing for Manchester United and Los Blancos. The Portugal international made 52 with the Red Devils and has racked up 96 with the Madrid side.
Others who make up the top 11, according to UEFA are Raúl Gonzalez, Ryan Giggs, Andres Iniesta, Clarence Seedorf, Paul Scholes, Lionel Messi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Roberto Carlos.
