'This Is Why Juventus Signed Cristiano Ronaldo'

Cristiano Ronaldo

Match-winner Cristiano Ronaldo drew praise from his coach after continuing his remarkable goalscoring record in cup finals as he helped Juventus to yet another triumph in the Italian Super Cup.   Read: Ronaldo Comments On Clinching Maiden Juve Title   The defending Serie A champions lifted a record eighth Italian Super Cup title after Ronaldo's second-half strike proved the difference between them and rivals AC Milan.   The Portuguese superstar has become known for his serial goalscoring ability and big-match temperament, with the 33-year-old having scored in two Champions League finals (2013/14 and 2016/17) so far.   Ronaldo also managed to find the back of the net on four occasions in two FIFA Club World Cup finals (2016 and 2017), and also scored in the 2017 Spanish Super Cup against his former club Real Madrid's bitter rivals Barcelona.   Bianconeri manager Massimiliano Allegri was naturally pleased with the superstar's performance against Milan on Wednesday night, and claimed that his ability to deliver on the big stage was a big reason in Juventus' decision to secure his services.   "We signed Cristiano Ronaldo because he is decisive and scores big goals," he told RAI after Juve's victory over the Rossoneri.   "He scored a great goal and moved very well, but the whole team put in a good performance.   "There were a few too many counter-attacks – we should've had more moves like the (Paulo) Dybala disallowed goal.    "Instead, we kept trying to move it around too quickly and allowed Milan some counters, forcing us to sprint back."   Read: 'Ronaldo Can Help Juventus Win The Champions League'   Following his goal against Milan, Ronaldo has now taken his tally for the season to 16 goals in 26 games across all competitions for Juve.   Do you think Ronaldo can deliver the Champions League trophy to Juventus in his first season in Italy?
