Serie A champions Juventus proved too strong for Cagliari, as they registered a 3-1 win on Saturday evening.

Juve broke the deadlock as early as the first minute as Bentancur played in Paulo Dybala, who turned two defenders before calmly slotting into the bottom corner.

The hosts continued to push for second goal, but Cagliari went close to pulling themselves level in the 19th minute although Szczesny produced a good save to keep out Pavoletti's strike.

The equaliser arrived for the visitors in the 36th minute as Joao Pedro pounced on a poor clearance and fired home with a neat finish.

Cagliari's joy was short-lived, with Juve  regaining their lead two minutes later as Filip  Bradaric deflected Douglas Costa's cross into his own net.

Ronaldo nearly added a third goal just before the break, but Cagliari shot-stopper Cragno produced a good save to keep out the Portuguese's strike from distance.

The Old Lady continued to push for more goals in the second half, but Cagliari were a lot more organised and restricted the home side.

Dybala looked to put Juve two goals up with 20 minutes remaining, but his long-range effort sailed wide of the upright as the tempo was increased.The victory was sealed with three minutes to play as Cristiano Ronaldo turned provider to pick out Juan Cuadrado, who smashed the ball beyond Cragno from close range.
