The 27-year-old received strong public scrutiny from his Portuguese manager earlier this month following a 1-1 Serie A draw with Sassuolo, with the tactician slamming him for his attitude during the match.
At the time, Mourinho did not reveal that it was Karsdorp he was talking about, although publications across Europe believed there was enough evidence to suggest it was the former Feyenoord player.
Karsdorp has been a regular for Roma since Mourinho's arrival last year, having made 62 appearances under the ex-Chelsea and Manchester United manager so far.
Romano reports that the three-time Netherlands international's time at the Giallorossi is approaching an end after he refused to return for the resumption of training.
