The Portuguese tactician is eager to bolster the squad once again after leading the team to the UEFA Europa Conference League title last season.

The Serie A club are now reportedly in talks with the Red Devils over a possible transfer for Ivory Coast international Eric Bailly.

Mourinho was the one who signed Bailly at Old Trafford from Villarreal in 2016, but his time in England has disrupted by injuries.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has now reported that Mourinho wants the central defender and talks are on-going between the clubs.

United recently brought defender Lisandro Martinez from Ajax, but the 28-year-old is reprotedly determined to fight for his place after impressing during pre-season.

Fellow Serie A side Napoli are also said to be keen on the Ivorian defender following the departure of Kalidou Koulibaly to Premier League outfit Chelsea.
