Juventus superstar Paul Pogba is reportedly in serious danger of missing the 2022 FIFA World Cup with France.
The midfielder recently suffered a knee injury that could keep him sidelined for a few months, according to reports across Europe.
Pogba completed his return to the Bianconeri earlier this month following his free-agent departure from Manchester United but has suffered a blow that will delay his second Juve debut.
La Gazetta dello Sport reports that the France international would spend a maximum of two months out should he choose to remove a piece of his torn meniscus but that this specific operation is better suited to younger footballers.
The publication suggests that the 29-year-old would see his mobility affected should he go that route, which is a price Pogba might not be willing to pay at his age.
It is said that the second option would be to undergo surgery on his knee, an undertaking that would reportedly result in the ex-Red Devils' star being ruled out for four or five months.
With the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar set to take place in November, choosing to go under the knife would likely leave Pogba unavailable for selection for Didier Deschamps.
The midfielder was a key part of Les Bleus' triumph in Russia four years ago, scoring in France's 4-2 final win over Croatia at the Luzhniki Stadium.
