Lukaku's loan move back to the Italian giants will undoubtedly please supporters of the Serie A club after he impressed in his first spell with the Nerazzurri between 2019 and 2021, in which he scored 64 goals in 95 matches.
His form earned him a big-money switch to the Blues, but his relationship with manager Thomas Tuchel took strain just months after his return and ultimately cost him his place in the side.
Despite a strong start, opportunities in Tuchel's favoured XI were few and far between for the 29-year-old, who will now be hoping to pick up from where he left off in Serie A.
