Juventus U-Turn Could See Paulo Dybala Leave For Free

Reports suggest that Juventus playmaker Paulo Dybala no longer plans on extending his contract with the Italian giants.

For the past two years, Dybala and the Bianconeri's board have been negotiating a possible extension, but it now looks as though the forward will no longer be putting pen to paper on a new deal with the club.

With Dybala's contract coming to an end at the conclusion of the 2021/22 campaign, he has decided to listen to offers from outside of Italy, according to Argentine publication TyC Sports.

Although an extension had initially been agreed earlier this season, Juve have reportedly tried to alter the terms of it with a lower offer. This U-turn from the club has seemingly left a bad taste in Dybala's mouth, with the forward now poised to leave Turin after seven years.

Having scored 10 goals and provided four assists in 21 appearances for Juventus so far this season, he will no doubt garner the attention of some of Europe's biggest sides.

Dybala has previously been on the verge of playing in the Premier League, having been heavily linked with moves to both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur back in 2019.

Spurs seemed to come the closest to signing Dybala after reportedly agreeing personal terms with the player and a £65 million (R1.3 billion) fee with Juventus, before the latter had a drastic change of heart, pulling the plug on the deal by opting to keep the player.
