Juventus 'Ready' To Finalise African Star's Return To Serie A

Juventus 'Ready' To Finalise African Star's Return To Serie A

One of Chelsea's African stars is garnering interested from Juventus.

Juventus are reportedly prepared to lure an African star away from Chelsea and facilitate his return to Italy's top division.

According to Fichajes, the Old Lady are eyeing a transfer for Senegal captain Kalidou Koulibaly at the end of the campaign.

The 31-year-old moved to the English capital at the beginning of this season, but is already rumoured to be making an exit from the Blues.

Koulibaly's transfer from Napoli formed part of the €611 million (R12.6 billion) the club's new owners spent on new additions over the course of the 2022/23 campaign, but while their hierarchy were loose with their purse strings, some will argue there has been little return on their investment.

The central defender formed part of a Chelsea side that seemed disjointed all campaign and is now destined to finish the season in the bottom half of the Premier League table for the first time since the 1995/96 season.

Couple that with their quarter-final UEFA Champions League exit and their next manager, anticipated to be Mauricio Pochettino, is likely to make wholesale changes to the squad in the next window.

Koulibaly could thus be one of those making way, but with a contract at Stamford Bridge that runs until 2026, recouping the money they spent on him may not be easy.

With the two-time European champions rumoured to be looking to sign striker Dusan Vlahovic from the Bianconeri, though, the Senegal international may be included in a deal that would see him move in the other direction.

The French-born defender has been a starter more often than not for the Premier League giants this season, perhaps evidence of the quality he still possesses, but with no European football to come at Chelsea next season, a return to the league where he established himself as one of the world's best might intrigue him.
