Juve 'Reach Decision' On Di Maria Extension

Juventus have reportedly come to a decision regarding Angel Di Maria.

With Angel Di Maria approaching the final weeks of his current deal at Juventus, the Italian giants have reportedly come to a decision regarding the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner.

According to Goal, the record Scudetto winners will not be extending the Argentine's contract at the Allianz Stadium and the 2013/14 UEFA Champions League winner will be leaving the Bianconeri at the end of the season.

The 35-year-old has endured an inconsistent debut season with the Serie A giants which has been plagued by injuries, and his time in southern Europe now seems to be coming to an end.

The two parties were initially engaged in negotiations over an extension for another year in Turin for the Argentina winger, but after Juve's points deduction for financial misappropriation was reinstated, it looks as though Di Maria's future with the Old Lady has suffered as a consequence.

Massimiliano Allegri's men are now five points off a UEFA Champions League qualification position, and with only two games left in the league season, it appears unlikely they will qualify for the continental tournament, and the club has seemingly decided to change its transfer strategy as a result.

Di Maria has been heavily linked with a move back to his native Argentina, to join hometown side Rosario Central, but the same report suggests that the ex-Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain star still aspires to compete at the 2024 Copa America and will consequently prioritise staying in Europe.

Up next for seventh-placed Juve in Serie A is AC Milan, who are fourth, a match that will now have even more riding on it for Allegri and his charges given their recent punishment.
