Jose Mourinho Reveals What He Is Going To Buy African Teen

Felix Afena-Gyan scores first goals for Roma

Jose Mourinho has revealed what he is going to buy the 18-year-old African striker who scored twice for Roma on Sunday night in what was a record-setting performance.

Felix Afena-Gyan, an 18-year-old Ghanaian youngster who joined Roma's youth set-up earlier this year, scored a brace in the Giallorossi's 2-0 win over Genoa on Sunday to become the first player born in 2003 to find the back of the net in Serie A.

The teenager was brought on with just 15 minutes remaining before securing all three points for Mourinho's side, and celebrated his maiden strike by running over to the Portuguese tactician on the sidelines.

Speaking after the match, Mourinho said he had promised Afena-Gyan that he would gift him with boots that he really wants as a result.

"I had promised to buy Felix the boots he really likes, which are really expensive, they cost €800, so he ran over and told me not to forget! Tomorrow morning, the first thing I do is buy him the boots," he told DAZN.

"I am sorry for Mister De Rossi and the Primavera squad, but Felix will stay with us. The Primavera work close to us, so Felix and another four or five players have come across to the senior squad.

"What impressed me the most was his cool head in front of goal. If he is not in terms of technique fantastic, he does have a strong mentality.

"You get these kids now who think they know everything, but he is humble and you can sense he just absorbs all this information from everyone around him. That's fantastic."
