Former Italy Star: This Serie A Striker Will Replace Karim Benzema At Real Madrid Next Season

A former Italy international believes a certain Serie A star will replace Karim Benzema at Real Madrid next season.

Reports: Real To Offer R1.16bn For Man Utd Star

Argentina and Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi has been linked with big-money moves away from Italy over the past few months, with Chelsea reportedly a frontrunner to secure his signature.

However, Daniele Massaro, a former Italy international and now television pundit, believes the 24-year-old is destined to move to Los Blancos.

"I can tell you today that Mauro Icardi will be a Real Madrid striker next year," Massaro told AS.

"His arrival will be at the expense of (Karim) Benzema."

Although Benzema scored two goals against APOEL in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night, he has struggled to find the back of the next on more than one occasion this season, and it is believed Real are now ready to cash in on him.
