Ronaldo opted to leave Los Blancos after nine seasons to join the Italian giants in deal believed to be worth €100 million (R1.62 billion).
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has enjoyed a fine start to life in Turin, having netted 11 goals in 16 Serie A appearances so far0.
However, Ronaldo could have joined the Bianconeri sooner, according to Mendes, who has now claimed his client wanted to make the move in January.
"He is the best player in the history of the game, so a lot of teams wanted him," the agent told Tuttosport, according to AS.
"Even so, Juve deserve a lot of credit for making this deal happen. Cristiano told me back in January that he wanted to join the Bianconeri. At that moment in time, I did not think that a deal would be possible, but I guess that I was wrong.
"I met up with (Juventus sporting director Fabio) Paratici and (vice-chairman Pavel) Nedved before the Juve-Real game in Turin (in April) and I then met up with (chairman Andrea) Agnelli, too. That's when I started to believe that a deal was possible."
