With Zinedine Zidane coming more and more under pressure at Real Madrid, the Frenchman has now commented on rumours Jose Mourinho could replace him at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Frenchman, who won nine trophies, including three successive UEFA Champions League titles, during his first spell at Madrid, is experiencing a rough time since returning to the Spanish giants in March this year, having won just 10 of his 22 games so far.
As a consequence, rumours that club president Florentino Perez has contacted Mourinho to sound him out as a potential replacement have been making the rounds, and that speculation has now been addressed by the Los Blancos manager.
"In football, people forget what you've done in the past," he said, as quoted by The Independent.
"The important thing is the present… I'm not going to say it doesn't bother me what is being said about other coaches, because it does.
"But what I have to do as a coach is to give everything, get the players to do the same, to give everything – and that's all I can do."
Zidane will have a chance to silence his critics when his side face Galatasaray in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Real have only picked up one point from their two opening games in Group A, and need a win to improve their situation, or risk failing to make it the knockout stages.
