Report: Real Madrid Star Upset With Zinedine Zidane

Report: Real Madrid Star Upset With Zinedine Zidane

Real Madrid attacker James Rodriguez is reportedly upset with manager Zinedine Zidane for the way he has been treated this season.

The Colombian returned to the Santiago Bernabeu following his two-year loan spell with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, who decided against making the move permanent.

However, Rodriguez's return has not been a pleasant one as he has only started four LaLiga encounters this season, but has not featured since October 2019.

ESPN have now reported that the 28-year-old is not pleased with the Los Blancos manager for his treatment and lack of game time this campaign.

With the Copa America coming up at the end of the season, the report goes on to claim that Rodriguez is doing his own fitness plan to ensure his fit for the tournament.

Colombia coach Carlos Queiroz did reveal not too long ago that he was worried by Rodriguez's situation ahead of the Copa America.

"All I can say is that we, at the FCF (Colombian Football Federation), take care to look after all of our players," Queiroz told EFE.

"James's situation is worrying for us. We know that he is in a difficult situation at this moment in time, it's a situation which technically and professionally isn't the best.

"But then there are other players who are playing even less. James's case is very strange, it's been a strange season for him but all of the coaching staff and I personally are doing what we can to help James, whose situation is a little more complicated.

"No one is disputing the quality James has, or [Santiago] Arias and [Luis] Muriel, who are also both in a difficult situation. That's why I am doing everything possible so that the players are in the best possible condition. My obligation is to ensure that all of them are fit to play."
