With the January transfer window just around the corner, Real Madrid's first departure has seemingly been confirmed.
Mariano Diaz re-joined Los Blancos from Olympique Lyon at the start of the 2018-2019 season and took the No.7 jersey which was vacated by all-time top scorer Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, it has not been a dream move for the 26-year-old, who only 13 LaLiga appearances last season while he is yet to play a minute of first team football this term.
The player's agent, David Aranda, confirmed that his client will leave leave the Santiago Bernabeu on loan for the next two seasons.
"He will go on loan for two seasons, although we have not yet decided on the club," Aranda was quoted as saying by Diario AS.
Spanish publication Diario Sport reported that fellow LaLiga outfit Espanyol were keen on the striker, while other Spanish media claim that Serie A giants AC Milan could be interested.
With Karim Benzema and Luka Jovic Zinedine Zidane's preferred choice upfront, Mariano will have to search elsewhere for regular top flight football.
