With many expecting superstar Gareth Bale to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season, the Welshman has been linked with a shock move to Newcastle United amid their proposed £300 million (R6.7 billion) Saudi Arabian takeover.
According to Spanish publication Sport, the former Tottenham Hotspur man is being lined up by the Magpies ahead of their expected takeover.
Newcastle could reportedly launch a £53 million (R1.2 billion) bid for the 30-year-old, who has fallen out with the Los Blancos' board.
Bale has seemingly been unhappy in Spain for quite some time, and is now reportedly closer to a move away from the LaLiga giants than ever before.
The winger has played just 18 matches so far this season so far, contributing to five goals, and is linked with a number of clubs across Europe.
Since his arrival at Real in 2013, Bale has scored 105 goals and assisted a further 67 strikes in 249 games for Los Blancos, winning 14 trophies along the way.
