After a court insisted UEFA and FIFA do not have the power to stop the European Super League, Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has made a significant claim about the controversial competition.

It was decided on Thursday by the European Court of Justice that the world football and European football governing bodies can no longer stop clubs from participating in the Super League.
The league, although not officially launched, is still being pursued by Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona, the only two known teams interested in the breakaway tournament that initially formed in 2021.
Following backlash back then, 10 of the 12 sides pulled out of the group, including all six Premier League clubs, with many of those same teams having issued new statements clarifying that their stance on the competition remain unchanged.
Ancelotti, though, seemingly believes the Super League would be good for the sport.
"I think it was an important decision for all the clubs," he said on Thursday after his team's 1-0 away win in LALIGA over Alaves, according to Geo Super.
"I think that, in the end, because there is no monopoly, it will be a positive.
"The international calendar can be improved, and I think it can be positive for everyone.

"I have to look at the format but this (court) decision, as I said, it will be very good for football."
