He decided to call time on his career at the Santiago Bernabeu, and after Real relinquished their LALIGA and Champions League titles to Barcelona and Manchester City respectively, in what was an injury plagued campaign for the Frenchman, many fans wondered who Los Merengues would sign to replace their departed captain.
One of the names being touted was that of the Lagos native as he was rumoured to be of interest to the chiefs at Valdebebas. While Real may have had their eye on Osimhen, the Spanish outfit didn't even place an offer and their Italian manager has now revealed why.
