France legend Thierry Henry appeared to choose his words carefully when reacting to Kylian Mbappe's on-field tantrum during Paris Saint-Germain's 5-2 win over Montpellier this past Saturday.
The 23-year-old caused a stir during his side's dismantling of Montpellier when he was seen turning his back on a counter-attack after the ball was not played to him and was passed to Lionel Messi instead.
Mbappe was also captured appearing to ask Neymar if he could take the second penalty PSG were awarded in the first half after he saw his effort from 12 yards saved just moments earlier.
Henry, who was working as a pundit in France on the weekend, appeared to resist criticising the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner, whom he has a good relationship with, before saying it is up to new manager Christophe Galtier to get the best out of Mbappe, Messi and Neymar.
"It's his place," he said while on punditry duty for Prime Sport Video France.
"He will, of course, have to show it [his best level] as he has shown from the start.
"But he has nothing to prove to anyone. The coach will have to find a way to play the three [Messi, Neymar, Mbappe] and make them happy... good luck.
"At PSG, there is always a debate, a problem. They won 5-2 and we're talking about Mbappe. Last year, it was Neymar and it will always be like that, it's PSG."
The French giants have now won their three opening matches of the 2022/23 campaign following victories over Nantes in the Trophee des Champions, and Clermont Foot and Montpellier in Ligue 1.
