Ronaldo's Girlfriend Says When Icon Will Retire

Ronaldo's Girlfriend Says When Icon Will Retire

Cristiano Ronaldo's girlfriend has seemingly hinted at when fans can expect the football icon to finally hang up his boots and call time on his career.

Two decades on from bursting on to the scene at Old Trafford under legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner is still playing at an elite level.

Of all the goalscorers in first divisions across the world, the Madeira native is the fifth-highest with his 22 goals in the Saudi Pro League, as per Transfermarkt.

He is also still prolific for his national team too, having scored the second-most goals during 2024 UEFA European Championship qualifying with 10 strikes, behind only Romelu Lukaku of Belgium, who scored 14 times.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner is thus still playing at a world-class level despite being 39 years old, but according to his girlfriend, Georgina Rodriguez, football fans should not expect the record-breaking striker to continue for much longer.

During a surprise appearance at the Paris Fashion Week, a video was taken backstage in which she seemingly admitted that Ronaldo will play two more years before calling time on his iconic career.

In the footage, she is said to be heard saying: "Cristiano, one more year, then it's over. Maybe two, I don't know."

The Portugal captain has been in the Middle East for just over a year now, but already has 42 goals in 48 appearances for Al Nassr.

Since arriving in Riyadh, he managed to lead the club to an Arab Club Champions Cup victory, but will likely also be looking to add a league title to the trophy cabinet before retiring.

That is unlikely to happen this season, however, as the Knights of Najd currently trail log leaders Al Hilal by nine points, but they do have a slim chance of making the ground up as there are still 12 matches to be played.
