The Manchester United boss wants to turn the Red Devils back into a title-winning force, and will reportedly splash the cash once this season is over.
According to The Sun, the Portuguese tactician has identified Monaco attacking midfielder Bernardo Silva as a priority target, along with Antoine Griezmann, and is willing to pay up to £70 million (R1.2 billion) for him.
Silva, who came through Benfica's famous youth academy, has been nicknamed "Messizinho", which translates to "little Messi".
He left the Portuguese giants to join Monaco in a deal worth €15.75 million (R228 million) in January 2015, and has impressed for the French club since.
Despite his young age, he immediately secured a first team place and has scored 24 goals, while assisting another 13 strikes, in 119 appearances for the Ligue 1 leaders.
He can play wide on either flank, but is often used on the right, and many consider him to be best suited to the classic No. 10 role.
