Matias Horacio Messi, one of the FC Barcelona superstar's two older brothers, has been placed in "preventative detention" in Messi's hometown Rosario, as reported by AS.
It was agreed that Matias will remain in a hospital where he is recovering from an accident on his boat.
Lionel's brother is in pre-trial detention, but could end up in prison for up to eight and a half years after an unlicensed gun with blood stains was found on his boat.
At this moment, it is unclear where the blood stains come from, and the police has taken samples to study.
