It has been reported that the ball boy Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo gave his match jersey to on the weekend will be punished, and here is why.
The Portuguese forward caused a bit of a stir on Sunday afternoon when, after the Bianconeri's 3-1 Serie A win over Genoa, he threw his shirt to the ground.
Reports that followed suggested that rather than throwing his shirt to the ground in anger, Ronaldo was leaving it behind for a ball boy who had asked him for it.
According to La Repubblica, however, the young boy, who plays for Juve's U13 team, will be punished as there are rules that prohibit ball boys from requesting jerseys from players. It is not yet clear what kind of punishment he will be met with.
Speaking after the game, Juventus manager Andrea Pirlo believed Ronaldo was furious that he had not scored in the victory, with reports later stating that the 36-year-old showed signs of frustration in the dressing room.
The former Real Madrid talisman has struck 25 times in 27 league matches so far for Juve this season, while he has found the back of the net on 32 occasions across all competitions.
