Real Madrid travelled to Juventus' Allianz Stadium on 3 April 2018 for a UEFA Champions League quarter-final, and came back with a rousing 3-0 win after that first-leg encounter.

Former Los Blancos talisman Ronaldo was once again the Man of the Match and the talk of world football following his two-goal showing.

He scored his side's opener within three minutes – his fastest ever in the competition – but it was his second strike that made headlines all over the world.

Ronaldo rose to score with a brilliant overhead kick following an inch-perfect cross from Dani Carvajal, and legendary goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon could only watch as the ball floated into the back of the net – you can watch the strike in its full beauty below:

The goal had the whole stadium on its feet, with even Juventus fans giving the Portugal captain a standing ovation.

Ronaldo, who also provided the assist for Marcelo's goal on the night, later claimed that the Juve home crowd's reaction to his strike played an important role in his decision to join the Serie A giants.
