Real Madrid boss Rafael Benitez became annoyed after being repeatedly asked if Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player in the world.

The Spaniard recently stated that the Portuguese superstar is among the best players he has ever coached, which some interpreted as a suggestion that Ronaldo was not, in Benitez's opinion, the best player in the world.
"I am surprised that you go on and on about what someone says and not about what happens on the pitch and what the team does," an annoyed Benitez told media after his side's 4-0 win over Shakhtar.
"I said yesterday that he plays for our team and that he is the best player in the world.
"I am going to repeat it so that there are no remaining doubts. I know Cristiano Ronaldo's value and performance level; he is the best in the world and is showing that in games and every training session.
"He is the best player in the world and, from now onwards, each time that you ask me, I am going to say yes. Let's end this issue about what I said and focus on what happens on the pitch."
Ronaldo has scored eight goals in four days and wrote all the headlines after becoming Real's all-time record scorer in La Liga as well as the top scorer in Champions League history.

Benitez, meanwhile, has become the first Los Blancos manager in history to go through the first four games of the season without conceding a single goal.
